While Discord isn’t technically a business solution, it is a collaboration platform that is often used to facilitate business’ internal communications. If your company uses Discord as a business tool, this blog will help you improve your Discord use.
Is Discord a Solid Business Solution?
There is no yes or no answer to this question. It all depends on how it is used. Discord servers can’t be individually separated by privacy settings so it may not be the best choice for businesses who want to use it for internal and external communications. It also isn’t good for keeping records, because there is no guarantee that your messages will be saved forever. While it can’t work as a single solution for all of your communication needs, it can be a great tool for some of them.
Adding users and changing their roles in Discord is easy, along with using servers as if they are an open office environment. While there are many benefits, we leave the choice up to you whether your business will use it or not. If you do, here are some helpful tips:
How to Create a Discord Server
In the left side column, which is your dashboard, you can open up a new server by clicking the plus sign. Then, you can name it, select your region, and click the Create option. You can then define roles that different users can have and what controls they will have.
How to Send Customized Invites
Now that the server is created, you can add users to it. From the new server, you can select the Invite Your Friends option. This option is found in the drop-down menu on the upper left. You can add users through username, invite your existing Discord friends or send the users a link to the server.
You can edit the invite link, including adding an expiration date, the maximum number of users who can use it, and the option to kick anyone who uses the link outside of the server once they are already in. Once your link is perfect, you can send it to your staff.
