Server Migration & Server Virtualization Services

Server Migration Services

Server migration is a process in which data is moved from one server to another. Data may be moved between servers for security reasons, because equipment is being replaced, or for any number of other reasons. This process is performed by MYTEK Specialists who work specifically with your servers to reduce server down time. Before a server migration takes place, we will map out a plan to help expedite this process. Once all of your data has been moved, it is subjected to verification to confirm that it is intact and that no parts have become corrupted by the move. At this point, the server migration is complete and the new server is active.

Networking Security and Infrastructure

Companies invest millions of dollars annually in their computing infrastructure on items such as networking equipment and its maintenance, workstation and server hardware and software, and security devices, among many others. Security professionals must be familiar with the latest products and understand the security implications of their use in a particular environment.

MYTEK has a full understanding of security concerns and concepts of the following types of devices: Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Wireless Access Points, Modems, Telecom/PBX (Private Branch Exchange), VPN (Virtual Private Network), Network Monitoring/Diagnostics, Workstations, Servers, and Mobile Devices.

Server Virtualization and Storage Area Networks

Server virtualization is the masking of server resources, including the number and identity of individual physical servers, processors, and operating systems, from server users. MYTEK’s server administrators use software to divide one physical server into multiple isolated virtual environments. The virtual environments are sometimes called virtual private servers.

A Storage Area Network (SAN) is a high-speed sub-network of shared storage devices. A storage device is a machine that contains nothing but a disk or disks for storing data. When MYTEK implements SAN solution for your business, the SAN’s architecture works in a way that makes all storage devices available to all servers on a LAN (Local Area Network) or WAN (Wide Area Network). As more storage devices are added to a SAN, they too will be accessible from any server in the larger network. In this case, the server merely acts as a pathway between the end user and the stored data. Because stored data does not reside directly on any of a network’s servers, server power is utilized for business applications, and network capacity is released to the end user.
